The health and safety of the U of T community is our top priority. The University is looking toward Fall 2021 with optimism, and we are hopeful that public health conditions will allow us to house all eligible first-year students. However, provincial health regulations continue to guide our work and will determine the total number of spaces in residence as well as our ability to honour the first-year residence guarantee.
Please be assured that we will continue to update students on residence accommodations as information becomes available.
Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the University of Toronto’s Housing Application, by March 31, and have received and accepted an offer of admission by June 1.
Innis Residence houses full-time undergraduate Innis College, Faculty of Arts and Science students and students from other undergraduate faculties or colleges if space permits. Approximately 75% of the spaces at Innis Residence are filled with first-year students.
If you require accessibility accommodations, it is important that you register and make an appointment with Accessibility Services as soon as possible.
Regardless of what faculty you are applying to you must log into StarRez and indicate you are interested in residence before March 31st. If you do not do this your chance of living in a St. George campus residence will be extremely low. You must log into StarRez with your UTORid/JOINid which you receive upon completing your application to the University of Toronto. Activate your UTORid/JOINid.
Arts and Science Students: In the residence application in StarRez, you will be asked to indicate whether you prefer to live in Innis Residence or Chestnut Residence.
Engineering and Architecture Students: You will be asked to rank your residence options in order of preference immediately following confirming your interest, only Engineering and Architecture students who rank Innis as their first preference will be considered for housing at Innis. As demand for Innis Residence is very high, even if you rank Innis first, this does not guarantee you will be offered residence at Innis.
If you are eligible for the residence guarantee and have completed the above steps on time you will receive an offer of residence by the end of July. Innis sends rolling offers throughout the admissions process. All offers are time sensitive and you must follow all of the instructions in your offer. Offers are only sent through e-mail and are sent to the e-mail you used on your OUAC application / ACORN student profile.
